Abstract

Young people’s civic awareness and responsibility are challenged by polarisation, hoaxes, weak public integrity, and the separation of faith from national life. This study analyses the relevance of Christian values to civic awareness and responsibility in Indonesian Christian schools. Using qualitative library research, it examines biblical texts, policy documents, and 30 publications from 2022–2026 through thematic content analysis. Human dignity, love, justice, integrity, responsible obedience, service, stewardship of creation, and shalom are directly related to civic awareness (knowledge, attitudes, identity) and civic responsibility (law-abidingness, participation, social care, digital ethics, ecological care), and are consistent with Pancasila and the national Graduate Profile. Their impact depends on internalisation through role modelling, contextual learning, and cooperation among families, churches, and schools
