ANTHROPOLOGICAL APPROACH IN ISLAMIC STUDIES

Anthropology is the science of humans, particularly their origins, physical forms, customs, and beliefs in the past. Epistemologically, anthropology empirically studies various aspects of humans, both as biological and social beings (meaning living in society). Theoretically, anthropology is the observational study of humans, both as biological beings and as beings inextricably linked to others. A more effective approach to anthropology is the holistic method. This method examines the phenomenon under study in a more universal and comprehensive manner, reflecting the culture of the society being studied. This study employed library research, utilizing literature from previous researchers and employing content analysis and constant comparative techniques. The anthropological approach to Islamic studies is the result of research that examines the unique characteristics of Muslims in various regions of the world and how they live while practicing Islam
